You probably wont believe it, but St. Patrick was actually English. He was born in Britain around 350 A.D. and most likely lived in Wales. Its believed that St. Patrick was kidnapped around the age of 16 and brought to Ireland and was sold into slavery. For 10 years, he watched over sheep before he escaped back to England. He took refuge in Gaul for 12 years where he became a priest, later taking his teachings back to Ireland.
