If you thought that attending that nth company group meeting was going to make you smarter, at least work-wise, then think again. According to the Virginia Tech Carillion Research Institute small group dynamics such as cocktail parties, collective bargaining sessions and jury deliberations tend to change the expression of people’s IQ, in particular in vulnerable ones. Read Montague, the director of Human Neuroimaging Laboratory and the Computational Psychiatry Unit at the Institute mentioned above, says that if you are joking about feeling brain dead during company meetings, you probably are going brain dead as well. So much for thinking that meetings enlighten you!
