#1 The Roots
Though Sriracha has gained immense popularity in recent years, it has actually been around as long as valley girls and Miami Vice. CEO David Tran came up with the concept of Huy Fong Foods (the makers of Sriracha) back in 1980 when he moved from Vietnam to Los Angeles. David was not too stoked on the various hot sauces our humble nation had to offer, so he worked tirelessly for months to craft what we now call Sriracha. Unlike most entrepreneurial types, David did not do this for profit; rather, he wanted to create a suitable hot sauce for his fellow Vietnamese immigrants. David had no intention of creating a booming business with a cult following, but that is exactly what happened. Fate is funny.
